I am currently working as a Genomics Research Scientist on the Target-TB project at UCD under the supervision of Dr David MacHugh where we are trying to understand the host-pathogen interaction using induced pluripotent stem cell-derived macrophages in bovine. Previously, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow on a project titled, “Identifying functional SNPs to strengthen genomic selection for feed efficiency in pigs” under the supervision of Dr Stafford Vigors at the UCD School of Agriculture & Food Science, Belfield, Dublin.
I completed my PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology (Fall 2019) under the supervision of Dr Douglas Rhoads from the University of Arkansas on the Fulbright Scholarship. My PhD work mainly focused on chasing the genetics of ascites in broilers using the whole-genome sequencing approach.
